The annual RTCC Scramble rolled into Kirby Muxloe Golf Club at the weekend, and once again the course looked a million dollars and the weather behaved like it had been specially booked for the occasion.
Eighty golfers took to the fairways, battling for the prestigious RTCC Texas Scramble crown and raising an incredible £1,200 for the cricket club along the way. A huge thank you to every single player who turned up, swung a club, lost a ball, found a ball that definitely wasn’t theirs, and helped make the day such a success.
And an extra special thank you goes to Matt Hallam. Matt doesn’t just organise this event — he owns it with sheer enthusiasm, spreadsheets, and a level of patience that deserves its own trophy. Once again, he delivered a fantastic day.
Taking home the honours were Callum Cockerill Mollett’s team, carding a gross 66 and a nett 52.4 — seriously dubious handicaps!.
We hope you all had a brilliant day, and we’re already looking forward to the next one. Let’s see if we can hit the magic 100 players next year.
